Think of the rink with the clanking boards, the outdoor court with chain nets, the ballpark bleachers in late August, the parking-lot tailgate before a Friday night game. We take the shapes and stripes of those decades, give them colourways of our own, and leave the most important part of the jersey to you.
\n
\n
Jersa in a few lines
\n
\n
Throwback hockey, basketball, football and baseball styles, plus ringer tees, hoodies, long sleeve tees, six-panel caps and crew socks.
\n
Our own decade colourways. One style is also offered in a Goalie Cut for an extra $30, a fuller shape meant for people who like plenty of room or wear it over gear. Browse them in Throwback Hockey Jerseys.
\n
Retro basketball jerseys
\n
Tanks and jerseys with the wide arm openings and bold side panels of summer-league courts. They work over a tee for a pick-up run or on their own on a hot afternoon. See Retro Basketball Jerseys.
\n
Retro football jerseys
\n
Generous cuts with sleeve stripes and big back numbers, built for tailgates, watch parties and backyard games. See Retro Football Jerseys.
\n
Vintage baseball jerseys
\n
Button-fronts and pullovers with piping and pinstripe looks that belong on a warm evening at the ballpark or a beer-league diamond. See Vintage Baseball Jerseys.
\n
Retro tees and hoodies
\n
For days when a full jersey is too much: ringer tees with contrast collars, hoodies, long sleeve tees, six-panel caps and crew socks in colourways that pair with the jerseys. See Retro Tees & Hoodies.
\n
Custom name and number jerseys
\n
Every style that takes personalisation, in one place, so you can compare sports and colourways side by side. See Custom Name & Number Jerseys.
\n
Our own colourways, never someone else’s badge
\n
Old sports kit has a look anyone can recognise: contrast yokes, stacked stripes, two-tone numbers, ringer collars. That look belongs to everybody. What does not belong to everybody is a club’s name, its crest, its mascot or its wordmark. So we leave all of those out.
\n
Instead, each Jersa design starts with a decade and a feeling. A burnt orange and brown sweater that reminds you of a seventies rink. A teal and cream tank that sounds like a nineties boombox at the court. A navy and powder blue pullover for a long summer of night games. We pick the colours, we name them, and we do not tie them to any team. That means a Jersa jersey is never pretending to be something it isn’t. It is a throwback-style piece that becomes yours the moment your name goes on it.
\n
It also means your jersey does not depend on anyone’s season. You do not need a favourite club to wear one, and you never have to explain a rival’s colours at a family dinner. Our Intellectual Property Policy explains this approach in more detail, including which names we will not print.
\n
How personalisation works
\n
Personalisation is the heart of the shop, and it is designed to be simple.
\n
\n
Choose a style and size. Garments come in S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL and 4XL. Caps are one size with an adjustable back. Socks are one size that fits most adults.
\n
Type your Name on back. It is required and fits up to 12 characters, enough for most surnames, a nickname or a short phrase like “UNCLE RAY”.
\n
Pick your Number on back. Any number from 0 to 99. Many people choose a birthday, an anniversary, a childhood jersey number or the last two digits of a year that matters.
\n
Add a Front word if offered. Some styles have an optional front field of up to 10 characters, perfect for a family name across a matching set or a made-up team name.
\n
Check the live preview. Your text appears over the product image so you can see roughly how it will sit.
\n
\n
Personalisation is included in the price; there is no extra charge for adding a name and number.
\n
We print exactly what you type
\n
There is no proof or mockup step before production. What you enter is what we print, letter for letter. That keeps things quick, but it also means the preview is your final check. Read it once more before ordering, and remember that “JONSON” and “JOHNSON” both look fine at a glance. If you spot a mistake after ordering, email us within 24 hours of placing the order and we will update it. The full steps are on Cancel or Change an Order.
\n
Your own words only
\n
The fields are for names and words that belong to you or your group. We do not print team, league, college, player or brand names, trademarked slogans or logo descriptions. If an order includes text like that, we will get in touch so you can change it or cancel for a full refund.
\n
\n
Personalisation fields at a glance
\n
\n
\n
Field
\n
Required?
\n
Limit
\n
Good idea
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Name on back
\n
Yes
\n
Up to 12 characters
\n
A surname, nickname or “GRANDPA”
\n
\n
\n
Number on back
\n
Yes
\n
0 to 99
\n
A birthday, an anniversary, your old number
\n
\n
\n
Front word (some styles)
\n
Optional
\n
Up to 10 characters
\n
A family name or a made-up team name
\n
\n
\n
\n
Who Jersa is for
\n
People find us for all kinds of reasons. A few we hear about often:
\n
\n
A set of matching hockey sweaters for a family’s annual pond-skate day, each with a different name and the same front word.
\n
A baseball pullover with “DAD” and a birth year number for a Father’s Day gift.
\n
Football jerseys for a group of friends heading to a tailgate, every number chosen to tease someone.
\n
A basketball tank for a rec-league team that invented its own name.
\n
A ringer tee and a six-panel cap for someone who loves the look but not the length of a jersey.
\n
Crew socks in matching stripes to finish a full throwback outfit.
\n
\n
Whatever the reason, the idea is the same: a piece with a sense of the past and your own name in the present.
\n
Putting a full look together
\n
A jersey is usually the starting point, but the smaller pieces are what make a throwback outfit feel finished. Because the tees, hoodies, caps and socks share the same decade palettes as the jerseys, you can build a look without guessing whether two shades will clash.
\n
For the rink
\n
Layer a long sleeve tee under a hockey sweater for warmth, then add striped crew socks in the same colourway. The sweater’s roomy body leaves plenty of space for the extra layer.
\n
For the ballpark
\n
A baseball button-front with a six-panel cap is the classic pairing. On cooler evenings, swap the button-front for a hoodie and keep the cap.
\n
For the court and the tailgate
\n
Basketball tanks look right over a ringer tee, and football jerseys sit well over a hoodie when the air turns crisp. If you are ordering for a group, choosing one colourway for everyone and varying the names and numbers keeps the set matching while every piece stays personal.
\n
Picking a number that means something
\n
The number is the small detail people remember. Some ideas customers tell us they used: the age someone is turning on a milestone birthday, the year two people met, a house number from a childhood street, the number a grandparent wore in a town league, or simply a favourite digit doubled up, like 44 or 77. For a set of siblings, some families give each child their birth order, 1, 2 and 3, so the photo lines up neatly. Any whole number from 0 to 99 works, and a single digit can be entered on its own or with a leading zero if you like the look of “07”.
\n
Choosing a size
\n
Retro cuts were usually roomier than modern athletic fits, and each sport is a little different. Hockey sweaters are the fullest, football jerseys are wide through the shoulders, basketball tanks hang loose, and baseball button-fronts sit closer to a regular shirt. The easiest way to choose is to measure a shirt you already like and compare. Our Size Guide walks you through how to do that and gives fit notes for each cut.
\n
Shipping and returns, in plain numbers
\n
Every order ships from the USA, free, with no minimum spend.
